A large horizontal sundial
Case: brass, remains of fire gilding, applied silvered hour ring. Solid bob adjustment, adjustable base with engraved compass:
OR = oriens, East / ME = meridies, South / OC = occidens, West / SE = septentriones, North.
Particularly in medieval times and the early modern age the names of the cardinal points were written in modern Latin.
