Case: brass. Dial: silvered. Movm.: brass movement, chain/fusee, spring detent escapement according to Thomas Earnshaw, Gerstenberger's Integral chronometer balance with 4 weights and 2 screws.
This ship’s chronometer without gimbal or wooden box was probably made by W. van der Eerden; in June 1940 van der Eerden gave notice of his move to Mathenesserplein 12 in Rotterdam in the paper Nieuwsblad - he spoke of himself as "De man van de klok" (the clock man).
