A collection of three French mantel clocks

A Charles X lyre mantel clock with half hour and hour self strike
Case: firegilt bronze. Dial: firegilt bronze. Movm.: the back side of the dial resp. compensation gridiron pendulum with knife edge suspension displaying the circular brass full plate movement with 2 barrels, 1 hammer / 1 bell and locking plate.
The lyre-shaped case with two flanking columns sits on four sphinx feet; the gridiron compensation pendulum is decorated with chased sperm whales and acanthus and swings between the two columns. The gilt surfaces are richly ornamented with cast acanthus and laurel leaves, flower tendrils and buds; the clock is surmounted by a lotus flower and the head of Apollo in a pointed arch decorated with buds.
