A quarter repeating hunting case pocket watch with concealed erotic automaton
Case: 14k gold. Dial: enamel. Movm.: bridge movement, 2 hammers / 2 gongs, screw compensation balance.
The erotic scene in this timepiece is concealed by the gold dome with an engraved dedication, which indicates that the watch was given as a gift to a friend, in 1900. The hidden scene shows a couple making love in an enchanting boudoir; when the repeater is activated, the polychrome enamel figures come to life against the engraved and partly gilded background.
