Cartier à Paris, "Tank Cintrée Two Time Zone", Case No. 014/100, Ref. 2767, Cal. 430MC, 23 x 45 mm, circa 2005
An elegant wristwatch with double dial for the indication of a second time zone for the Chinese market - no. 014 from a limited series of 100
Case: 18k white gold, 18K white gold back screwed on the band, 2 crowns with ground sapphires, 18k white gold deployant clasp. Dial: silver, engine-turned. Movm.: two bridge movements, Glucydur balances.
The so-called CPCP models (Collection Privée Cartier Paris) were produced in a number of different versions and variants - some of them were even only availably in particular regions or created to celebrate a special occasion. The "Tank Cintrée Two Time Zone" with Chinese numerals, like this piece for example, was made for the Chinese market and showed all the typical CPCP details such as the engine-turned rose and the letters "PARIS" on the dial; it came as a limited series of 100 pieces each in pink and white gold - however, no one outside of Asia even knew that this model existed! The timepiece was a fine travel watch that was specially produced to celebrate the relations between France and China.
Two other "Tank Cintrée Two Time Zone" watches are illustrated and described in Osvaldo Patrizzi, "White Cartier", Antiquorum Editions 2006, Nos. 159 & 160.
