An ornamental pair-cased clock watch with enamel decoration, half-pearls, centre seconds and hour / quarter hour self strike - made for the Chinese market
Case: outer case - brass, gilt. Inner case - brass, gilt, rear bell. Dial: enamel. Movm.: fine full plate movement, keywind, chain/fusee, 2 hammers, cylinder escapement, three-arm steel balance.
A striking, formidable clock watch in excellent condition. The brass outer case has an open-work rim engraved with exquisite flower scrolls and a translucent cobalt blue enamel medallion on the back; the medallion is framed by a border of alternating red paste stones and half-pearls which is repeated on the bezel on the front. The inner case is similarly decorated with an open-work rim and floral scrolls.
