A fine and rare 8-day going globe-shaped desk clock with barometer, hygrometer and thermometer with original box
Case: gilt brass stand, brass revolving globe with matted silver lacquered surface and slightly raised gilt continents. Revolving clock with suspension, rear winding, Dial: silvered. Movm.: bridge movement, Glucydur balance.
The Angelus manufactory was established in La Chaux-de-Fonds in 1891 and introduced its clock globe in 1946 - at a time when commercial aviation was on the rise. Angelus created the Planète avion, a globe with airplane that was simultaneously intended as an ornament and a weather station with clock.
