A splendid Neuchâtel Louis XVI bracket clock with quarter hour/hour strike, quarter repeater and alarm
Case: wood, painted, green surface with polychrome flowers. Gilt bronze mountings and ornaments: volutes, garlands rocailles and acanthus. Glazed front door and pendulum aperture with gilt bronze mountings depicting a dove sitting on war trophies. Detachable curved bell top with 3 concealed bells and 4 hammers, surmounted by a vase finial. Matching curved bracket. Dial: enamel. Movm.: rectangular brass full plate movement, 2 barrels, on reverse side fine matted applied rack strike levers, verge escapement, short pendulum.
