A collection of three singing bird boxes

An ornamental gilt and enamel singing bird box with original box and winding key
Case: brass, gilt. Rectangular box with rounded corners. Allover engine-turned pattern, the top part with translucent light-blue enamel and applied gold ornaments. The front and back side with chased applications of garlands, putti and birds, the sides with flower wreaths. The top with a central oval enamel plaque with painted pastoral scene, which covers the singing bird automaton. A front slide activates the automaton. Winding arbor in the base. Automaton mechanism: rectangular full-plate brass movement, bellows, barrel, bird with moving wings and tail before a pierced grill.
