A rare and ornamental Vienna silver and enamel table clock in the form of a harp with concealed Swiss verge watch
Case: silver, gilt, polychrome enamel, maker's mark LP and punch mark A. Dial: enamel. Movm.: full plate movement, keywind, chain/fusee, three-arm brass balance.
Body and base plate of the realistically executed harp’s foot are decorated with polychrome enameling and show pastoral rococo scenes inspired by Francois Boucher. The sides of the foot, the soundboard and parts of the column are ornamented with enamel and floral painting; the column is twisted with blue enameling. The upper part of the foot is hinged and decorated with floral engraving - it opens to reveal the verge watch.
