A fine hunting case pocket watch with "seconde foudrayante" and centre seconds - for the American market
Case: 18k gold. Dial: enamel. Movm.: bridge movement, 2 barrels, gold screw compensation balance.
Lutz Brothers in Le Locle were active during the second half of the 19th century and renowned for timepieces of excellent quality. Henry Piaget mentions them in 1877 as "good watchmakers".
