Omega Marine-Chronometer
The Omega constructors tackled the last until then impregnable bastion of precision time measuring at the end of 1973. The second megaquarz calibre 1511 applied for the title of a "marine chronometre" in Neuenburg. The limits of these most difficult of all Bulletins de Marche were measured set so narrowly that they could actually only be performed by large clockworks, provided they went in one position under constant temperature. The Megaquarz 2400 underwent the 63-day endurance test and passed all examinations for the section "marine chronometre" with a diviation of only two milliseconds per day. This means it was 85 times more precise than the limit had demanded.
