A. Lange & Söhne Glashütte i/SA /Andreas Huber, München-Berlin, Movement No. 206038, Case No. 206048, 59 mm, 167 g, circa 1943
A fine Glashuette deck watch with 35h power reserve indicator - manufactured in quality 1A - in a mahogany box
Case: silver. Dial: silvered. Movm.: 3/4 plate movement, screw compensation balance.
This watch comes with a mystery to solve: Why does Andreas Huber note on the dome that Lange & Söhne movement no. 206048 has been used, when the movement itself bears the number 206038? Any why does the signature on the movement say "M. Gahl." instead of Lange & Söhne? This movement was probably finished and refined by Mr. M. Gahl - all bearings with gold chatons, lever and wheel with ruby endstones and the balance with diamond endstones. An exceptionally beautiful piece of work.
