Case: 18K white gold, sapphire cabochon, screwed on back, 18K white gold deployant clasp. Dial: white. Movm.: bridge movement, Glucydur screw balance.
The sapphire cabochon set below the concealed dial serves as a slider for opening five white gold case segments - a concept that reminds us of the famous "montre volets" wristwatches created by Vacheron Constantin in the 1920s. The intention was to protect the glass over the dial, which in the 1920s and 1930s was made of fine crystal that damaged easily.
