A rare rose gold-mounted hardstone snuff box in the manner of the Saxon gemstone snuff-boxes by Johann Christian Neuber (1736-1808), Dresden
Case: oval agate box, hinged lid with carved pearl motif border; central oval medallion with inlaid red and white braided border with engraved lyre, book, scroll, quill and ink pot and laurel leafs in a small gold frame. The gold fittings on the edge of the lid are decorated with engraved foliate scrolls.
