A gentleman's rare bi-color wristwatch with date
Case: steel/gold, exchange case, screw back ref. 17000B, screwed "Twinlock" winding crown, steel/gold "Oyster" bracelet ref. 17013B. Dial: gilt. Movm.: precision quartz movement.
Ref. 17000 Rolex launched the models "Oysterquartz Datejust" (Ref. 17000, 17013, 17014) and "Oysterquartz Day-Date" (Ref. 19018, 19019) in 1977. The rare timepieces are easily identifiable by the distinctive angular shape of the case and the bracelet elements, as well as by the writing on the dial. The quartz movements had chronometer certification; however, production was eventually stopped. The exact time of this is difficult to pinpoint - quartz models were still available in the late 1990s.
