A gentleman's rare dress watch with pin-pallet escapement according to Pouzait for the British market
Case: silver, case maker's punch mark "ID". Dial: enamel. Movm.: full plate movement, hack feature, hand setting device via ratchet-wheel at "4", oversized five-arm brass ring balance.
Jean-Moïse Pouzait (1743 - 1793)
He was born in Geneva. He was the head of the first school of Horology in Geneva and invented the independent dead seconds watch in 1776. In 1786 he improved the anchor escapement.
