A collection of 2 graduate's pieces
Gérald Châtelain, Ecole d'Horlogerie Saint-Imier, Case No. 1168, 34 mm, circa 1962
A rare Swiss graduate's piece with chronograph and 30 min. counter - with two work books and certificates of the Technicum Cantonal - Saint-Imier, dating from 1959/60 and 1962/63
Case: steel. Dial: silvered. Movm.: bridge movement, Glucydur screw balance.
As it is often the case school watches, these two timepieces are superbly constructed and executed: the wristwatch has a rose gilded movement and the finely cut pocket watch movement has an unusually large balance; both have rather plain dials that are nevertheless incredibly appealing.
While the creators of school watches often remain anonymous, we know that Gérald Châtelain was the student who made this watch; due to the school records we are even able to follow his school career for nearly two years.
