Lot 232

Patek Philippe & Cie. Genève, Movement No. 124794, Case No. 267604, Cal. 18''', 50 mm, 110 g, circa 1903
A distinguished Geneva minute repeating hunting case pocket watch with chronograph - with brown leather Patek Philippe presentation box
Case: 18k gold, the front cover with red and blue enamel monogram "PEN". Dial: enamel. Movm.: bridge movement, rhodium-plated, "fausses côtes" decoration, gold screw compensation balance.
This is an extremely rare Geneva hunter watch with minute repeater; the case is exquisitely decorated with engine-turned pattern and translucent blue and red enamel monogram "PEN". Unfortunately we have no way of discovering who this original buyer was. The fine white enamel dial has Breguet numerals and blued hands. The chronograph is activated through a pusher in the case band, the repeater is released by a slide. The movement features two very finely polished hammers and gongs as well as cut and bevelled steel chronograph parts.
