An almost as new presentation watch of Emperor Napoleon III. to a duke
Case: 18k gold. Dial: enamel. Movm.: bridge movement, chain/fusee, pivoted detent chronometer escapement, helical balance spring, gold screw compensation balance.
The front cover is decorated with a finely executed coat of arms with a Roman warrior and the inscription "Audax sed fidelis" ("bold but faithful"); above it is a duke's magnificent crown. Both are in excellent condition, as is the monogram of Napoleon III. on the back.
