Lot 462

Swiss, Movement No. 19119, Case No. 64912, 53 mm, 121 g, circa 1920
Swiss minute repeating hunting case pocket watch with chronograph - delivered to Antonio Passoni in Venice
Case: 18k gold, inner lid with presentation engraving "Venezia, 26-XI-922". Dial: enamel. Movm.: bridge movement, 2 hammers / 2 gongs, screw compensation balance.
A different kind of "Mysterieuse": the movement was probably made by LeCoultre & Cie. and there is hardly any information on Venetian jeweller Antonio Passoni; then there is of course the strange date "26-XI-922" that ought to stand for the 26th of November 1922 – the day when Howard Carter entered the tomb of Tutankhamun and said "I see wonderful things...". This is a fine timepiece in very good condition.
