A decorative hour striking flat-framed Renaissance iron clock
Case: closed iron case, foliate decor, lateral painted doors, bell, 1 hammer. Dial: painted hour chapter ring with radial Roman numerals, finely cut brass hand. Movm.: iron frame, brass going train in two levels with weight winding spools, verge escapement, front pendulum with brass bob.
A domestic clock in excellent condition, approx. 400 years old with original paintwork on the dial. Around 1600 only very few wealthy families could afford a timekeeper such as this and it is extremely unusual that a piece in original condition comes on the market.
