Case: steel, screw back, turnable black bezel "III/71", "Triplock" winding crown, folded steel "Oyster" bracelet ref. 9315, lugs "380", later service deployant clasp (1998). Dial: black, luminous indexes, centre seconds, silver date indicator, luminous Mercedes hands. Movm.: rotorwind movement, rhodium-plated, ground, 8 adj., 26 jewels, Glucydur screw balance, shock protection for balance.

Reference 1680 was produced from 1969 until 1980. Watches bearing the inscription "Submariner" in red are much sought after by collectors.
The piece at hand has a wonderful black dial background and perfectly matured luminous hour indexes with colour-coordinated hands. The excellent overall condition of the watch and its exceptional beauty make it a truly unique piece.
