A gentleman's elegant pocket watch with jumping hour indicator - with original box
Case: 18 kt. white gold, polished, push back. Dial: gilt and silvered, indexes, central engine-turned wandering disc and aperture for jumping hour indication with Arabic numerals, signed Breguet, Brevet S.G.D.G, France. Movm.: bridge movement, rhodium-plated, "fausses côtes" decoration, signed, 8 adj., 18 jewels, gold screw compensation balance.
Wandering hour watches were first produced in the 17th century; Breguet sold wandering hour watches in the 1920s and 1930s. His watches used the system patented around 1925 by Robert Cart, a Swiss watchmaker.
