A representative gold enamel snuff box studded with half pearls
Case: gold, maker's mark: crowned "GRC" (Jean Georges Rémond & Cie à Genève).
Oval box, all-over engine-turning and translucent cobalt blue enamelling. Hinged lid studded with half pearls and a very fine oval polychrome enamel miniature painting: pastoral scene of a young couple sitting at a stream. Sides and base with paillon flower sprays. Stylized pilasters and vases of white and blue Champlevé enamelling on the sides and on the rim of the lid.
