A one-handed pair cased verge pocket watch with early balance spring
Case: outer case - silver, tortoiseshell covered, stud decoration, large lateral hinge. Inner case - silver, polished. Dial: silver, Champlevé, inlaid radial Roman hours, engraved and chased centre with signature, blued steel single hand. Movm.: full plate movement, keywind, firegilt, signed, chain/fusee, tulip pillars, three-arm steel balance, large florally engraved and pierced balance bridge.
The watch is a particularly beautiful example of a one-handed pocket watch with an early hairspring and a regulation mechanism according to Tompion.
