An oval, single-handed pendant watch
Case: firegilt brass and silver, front and back with lavishly hand-engraved oval cartouches within a florally decorated border: the front with the depiction of the moon goddess Luna, the back back with the depiction of the sun god Apollo with lyre and a scythe. Very finely engraved case band decorated with flowers, foliage and animals; the inner of the front lid with engraved laurel wreaths, pendant in the shape of a disc. Dial: brass, firegilt, oval chapter ring with engraved radial Roman numerals within a border of engraved foliage and the figure of Cupid; in the centre an engraved coastal landscape with windmill, cutter and town houses; single iron hand. Movm.: oval full plate movement, firegilt, engraved decoration, baluster movement pillars, gut/fusee, verge escapement, ratchet wheel set up with blued steel spring, two-arm iron balance without spring, florally engraved pierced balance cock.
