A rare, single-handed, square cased table clock with hour self strike and alarm
Case: copper, iron and bronze, firegilt, the sides with screwed on windows, disc feet, rear bell. Dial: applied silver chapter ring with inlaid radial Roman hours, alarm disc with centred floral engravings, the spandrels engraved with angel's heads, pierced and blued single iron hand. Movm.: square movement, firegilt, florally engraved and pierced appliques, signed, chain/fusee, 3 barrels for going train, hour strike and alarm, moulded pillars, 1 engraved hammer, additional hammer for alarm, locking plate for strike mechanism, verge escapement, two-arm iron balance without balance spring, hogs bristle regulator, florally engraved and pierced balance cock.
