To mark its double anniversary in December 2005, A. Lange & Söhne presented enthusiasts of mechanical masterpieces with a special gift in the form of the "TOURBOGRAPH 'Pour le Mérite'". It represents the pinnacle of craftsmanship in Saxon watchmaking. The "TOURBOGRAPH 'Pour le Mérite'" features five of the most sophisticated complications within a single movement. It features a minute tourbillon powered by an unusual mechanism using chain/fusee, which is considered particularly difficult to implement in a wristwatch. This complicated timepiece is also fitted with a rattrapante chronograph function visible through the crystal caseback. The delicate tourbillon cage can be observed from the front as well as through the sapphire crystal back. The watch is fitted with Lange’s proprietary manual wind calibre L903.0. Consisting of over 1,000 individual parts, it is a technical masterpiece that combines performance and aesthetics with rare consistency. The 41.2 mm platinum case, in combination with a solid silver dial and blued and gold-plated hands, exudes cool elegance. Only 51 pieces of this model have been produced, each one handcrafted in Glashütte. The watch should be serviced. While it is working perfectly, the power reserve display is not functioning.
