A clock that runs for a whole year without the need to be wound is a challenge even today. The Mayr & Naeschke manufactory developed a clock that is extremely resistant to shock and dust. A well-regulated and temperature-compensated seconds pendulum is driven by a normal weight.
The dead-beat Drops escapement was developed by the Matthias Naeschke company and significantly reduces friction losses during the lifting process. Here, a flat surface on the tooth works with a curved lifting surface on the circular pallet. Due to the capillary effect and the significantly lower pressure, the oil always stays where it belongs.
