The Rolex Datejust 16233 is one of the most iconic luxury watches of all time. It represents a perfect combination of timeless design, technical excellence, and investment potential.
The Datejust collection holds a special place in the illustrious history of Rolex. Introduced in 1945 for the company’s 40th anniversary, it was the first waterproof wristwatch with automatic winding and a date window at the 3 o’clock position - a true technical revolution. The reference number 16233 specifically refers to the two-tone version in stainless steel and yellow gold, which was especially popular in the 1980s and remained in production until the early 2000s. Thanks to its two-tone design, it pairs beautifully with both casual and formal attire. The 36 mm case size, which once represented the standard size for men’s watches, now offers vintage-inspired proportions that suit a variety of wrist sizes.
The movement starts immediately, nevertheless, we recommend a full service. The watch comes with box and the original punched certificate with green stripe, issued by Wempe in Frankfurt am Main on March 8, 1993.
