The Patek Philippe Gondolo reference 3942 represents the combination of ageless elegance with technical sophistication. The 18 K yellow gold case impresses with a classic tonneau form and opulent design, which is complemented perfectly by the magnificent gold bracelet. The silvered dial features the coveted Breguet numerals and gold hands and presents an overall picture of harmonious beauty. The watch is powered by the flat automatic calibre 240.

When Patek Philippe launched the "Gondolo" it represented a subtle modern reinterpretation of some of their historic pieces. The Gondolo range stands for strong angles, timeless style and geometric simplicity and is a contemporary representation of the 1920s' Art déco style. The name dates back to the close connection of the renowned Swiss watchmaking brand with "Gondolo & Labouriau" in Rio de Janeiro. Between 1902 and 1930 Patek Philippe created an exclusive range specially for the famous Brazilian watch store Gondolo & Labouriau. Patek’s reputation was such, that the word "Patek" was used as synonym for "watch", no matter whether the timepiece was in fact by Patek Philippe or not. The shop closed in 1935, the name Gondolo, however, lives on in the Patek Philippe catalogues.
