This timelessly elegant style icon is one of the most beautiful models the Patek Philippe brand ever created. It features the typical graceful ellipse-shaped case and the gently shimmering blue-gold dial with delicate indexes and hands. The Ellipse D'Or was launched in 1968. Even then it stood out among its conventional contemporaries, with a design that is based on the concept of the golden ratio. Reference 3848 was introduced in many variants in 1977 and production ran until 1998.
