Considered sporty, elegant, refined and irresistibly attractive, the Rolex Cosmograph Daytona is at the top of many people's wish lists. Launched in the early 1960s, it now comes in countless variants.
The present example has an unpolished 40 mm case in 18-karat yellow gold with a timelessly elegant, black dial with gold-rimmed totalizers and applied luminous indexes. Having been stored in a vault for years, the gold takes on a warm honey colour and, together with the black dial, creates a stunning aesthetic. This luxurious timepiece is powered by the legendary automatic calibre 4030 with 31 jewels. Its functions include a central hour, minute and seconds hand, as well as a chronograph with 30-minute and 12-hour counters. The very well preserved 18 K yellow gold bezel features an engraved tachymeter scale for computing speed such as the average speed per hour. On the wrist, this classic timepiece is a true beauty.
