BreitlingMontbrillant Serie Limitée 175
A sporty elegant, limited-edition neo-vintage wrist chronograph with tachy scale and red hundredths of an hour display
Sold
This model is a reissue of a wrist chronograph from the 1940s and part of the series "Montbrillant Serie Limitée 175" which is limited to 279 pieces. To look at the watch, one is reminded of the Breitling Chronomat reference 769. The watch is powered by hand-wound calibre Venus 175, which was introduced circa 1950. The "Montbrillant Serie Limitée 175" was developed by Ernest Schneider, who was the owner of Breitling, as well as a businessman and avid pilot. Schneider acquired the rights to the Breitling name and brand in the 1980s and specialised in the creation of mechanical chronographs.
This timepiece is no. 165 of the limited edition. It was seldom worn, so that the case developed the rare gold oxide, which is highly valued by collectors but can also be removed easily by polishing the case.
