The Omega "Pilot's Watch 1938" is part of the Museum Collection N° 1 and was produced in a limited series of only 4938 pieces.
In 1938, a steel pilot's watch underscored Omega's links with the world of aviation. Fitted with a rotating bezel with a scale allowing flight times to be calculated, the watch was designed to be worn on the wrist or the leg, with a special strap for the latter. Pilots were thus able to read the time easily and plan their routes using different landmarks. It is this model that Omega is re-issuing as a limited series, bringing it up-to-date with the latest technology. The original watch was not water-resistant and was fitted with a manual-winding movement. For the new model, water-resistance is increased to 50 metres and the movement is self-winding with a chronometer certificate.
