Lange & Söhne started producing pocket watches with indicator for true differential power reserve in 1879; this timepiece with the number 13304 is thus a very early example of this design.
Charles William Schumanm only bought his movements from Adolph Lange, the cases were produced in the USA. Schumann was born around 1825. He founded his jewellery business in New York in 1849. He died on 4 November 1903 at the age of about 78. His three sons Charles Jr.Schumann, George H. Schumann and William Schumann eventually took over the company.
