Hermann Horrmann (1856-1913) trained as a watchmaker in Mecklenburg and went to Dresden in 1877. At the young age of 24 he wrote an award-winning book on the finishing of watches. After working in Vienna, Switzerland and Paris Horrmann was manager of the Vacheron & Constantin branch in London until 1887. After a short time with Knoblich in Hamburg he opened his own shop in Leipzig. Horrmann was active in several watchmaker’s associations and held the position of 2nd chairman oft he central association of German Watch- and Clockmakers for nine years.
