According to our information, the watch was sold at a charity auction in the early 2000s by the then Prime Minister of Saxony, Kurt Biedenkopf. The watch is believed to be the first Glashütte Original Senator Perpetual Calendar with the serial number "000". Another unique feature of the watch is a ruby set in the crown.
The finely balanced, silver-plated dial lends a particularly elegant appeal to this marvelous timepiece, which features windows for the day of the week and the month in German as well as a double window for the panorama date. The fan-shaped cut-out at 8 o’clock displays the different moonphases. Whether or not the current year is a leap year, is indicated by different colours in a small round opening beneath the Glashütte Original logo. The 18 K gold case is tiered and the winding crown is set with a ruby cabochon. The watch is powered by the automatic calibre GUB 39 featuring a 21 K skeletonised gold rotor and beryllium balance.
