A very fine, heavy and large Glashuette graduate's gold hunting case pocket watch, manufactured in quality 1A by Bertold Schön at the German Watchmaking School in Glashuette

As is to be expected from a Glashuette school watch, this timepiece is of outstanding quality. Bertold Schön, student no. 861, born August 18, 1889 in Vacha in Thuringia attended the school in the period 1909/1910; he then presumably changed schools, leaving Glashuette with a commendation. For his piece Schön had the gold case (which is unusual in itself for a school watch) made by F. Ehehalt in Stuttgart. Ehehalt originally worked for Lange & Söhne, before starting his own business and produced several cases for Glashuette school watches.
