Ebony veneer over an oak carcase, rectangular case, brass bun feet, red silk-lined covered foliate frets to the front door, cast gold-plated brass fittings, glazed on all sides, caddy top with applied central mount, cast handle with foliate decoration.
Dial
Square gilt brass dial, silvered chapter ring, radial Roman hours, matted centre with date below "12", winged cherub spandrels, strike/silent lever above "12", blued steel hands.
Movement
Rectangular shaped brass movement, firegilt, fully engraved with foliate scrolls, 2 hammers / 2 bells, 2 x gut string/fusee, verge escapement, short brass pendulum.
