Jürgen Abeler lists the watchmaker Johann Peter Mayr in Augsburg. Mayr was born in Anwalting. He became a master maker circa 1740 and established his own watchmaking business in 1742. His timepieces were and still are part of several collections and museums, such as the Fraenkel Collection and the British Museum in London.
