Between 1718 and 1750 Godfrey Poy worked at some of the best adresses in central London such as Pall Mall and Haymarket. Literature records him as a "FINE MAKER". In his book "Old Clocks and Watches and their Makers" Britten mentions that Godfrie Poy reputedly created a watch for King George II, when he was the Prince of Wales. Britten also mentions another watch by Poy, which was supposedly part of the Tsar of Russia’s collection at the Winter Palace in St. Petersburg.
