When the Rolex Datejust became the icon of an ever changing design standard in the 1970s, the Yacht Club model aimed at offering a similar kind of elegance, albeit with a more cutting approach.
The Yacht Club was launched in 1967 and soon became one of IWC's most successful and best-selling watches. It has a simple dial with applied indexes and a date window at 3 o'clock. Inside is IWC's famous automatic movement, calibre 8541, with a special shock absorber. The case has a diameter of 36 mm and wide flared lugs. The blue, slightly iridescent dial is breathtakingly beautiful, while the luminous dots and luminous material in the hands have changed colour over the years to a refreshing lemon yellow.
