This anniversary watch comes from the original owner and is presented with all its accessories as a coveted "full set". This includes the original box, a suede travelling pouch, a leather wallet, the C.O.S.C. rating certificate, the Patek Philippe certificate, the reference 5100 limited edition attestation, the operating instructions "Uhren zur Feier des dritten Jahrtausends" (Watches to Celebrate the Third Millennium), a brochure, the Geneva seal, the commemorative medal, the sales receipt and the original sales tag.
Patek Philippe’s reference 5100 was launched to commemorate the new millenium and is once more a fascinating blend of technical know-how and breathtaking design: The novel 10-day movement is a horological benchmark – it is driven by two powerful mainsprings showing off their large rubies through the crystal back. The shape of the case is a nifty look back at the historical reference 2554 whose compound curves gave the watch the nickname "Manta"; to avoid any misunderstanding as to where the inspiration comes from, the user instructions actually include the picture of a manta ray.
Reference 5100 was produced in a limited edition of 3,000 pieces only, with 1,500 yellow gold, 250 pink gold, 450 white gold and 300 platinum versions. The tools used to create the case will never work again – reference 5100 will always be a one-of-a-kind special edition.
