In his books 'Touhrbillon, about my passion' and 'Das klassische Taschenuhrgehäuse' (classic pocket watch cases) Steffen Pahlow (1941-2023), a self-taught Tourbillon and watch case maker, gave a fine explanation of tourbillon and pocket watch case making. The books describe the insights he gained from his practical work and are a welcome addition to the small supply of technical literature on these subjects. He describes a way to get started with constructing a tourbillon and case-making from a self-taught perspective. This timepiece is a good example of his work.
