The typical round watches in the Piccadilly range by Backes & Strauss are named after the large circular traffic junction designed by John Nash, which forms the centre of London since its institution in 1819. Like all watches from the Backes & Strauss classic luxury range, all Piccadilly models feature at least one diamond in the crown, the so-called "jewel in the crown".


Backes & Strauss is an English company specialising in the creation high-quality timepieces and jewellery. The company was founded in Hanau in 1789 and present themselves as the oldest company processing diamonds worldwide.
The London office was established in 1814 and the corporate seal was registered at the Goldsmith's Hall in London in 1878.
