The Pilot's Watch UTC Edition Antoine de Saint Exupéry features a relief engraving on the caseback commemorating the aeroplane Latecoere 25, regularly flown by Antoine de Saint Exupéry. The watch displays a second time zone with is styled like an altimeter. Saint Exupéry's signature "A" is positioned at 9 o‘clock.
With this 2008 timepiece IWC pays homage to Saint-Exupéry‘s award-winning novella "Terre des Hommes" (translated as "Wind, Sand and Stars" in English) which deals with immortal virtues such as camaraderie, solidarity and humanity. The setting moves across several continents and time zones, so that it suggested itself to fit this watch with an UTC (Universal Time Coordinated) function, which displays two time zones simultaneously.
