The Portuguese Perpetual Calendar wristwatch was launched in 2003 and features a distinctive double moon phase, which displays the northern as well as the southern hemisphere. This design was patented by IWC. The silvered dial features four well-arranged subdials for date and power reserve at 3 o’clock, for month and day of the week in English in combination with the small second at 6 and 9 o’clock, and the double moonphase at 12. The moon phase display is accurate for 577 years, while the perpeptual calendar runs until 2499.
