An outstanding timepiece of supreme quality, as is to be expected from Glashuette school watches.
Hans Abeler was a son of German watchmaker and jeweller Heinrich Abeler (1871-1948) and Paula Anna Fränken (1877-1922) of Münster/Westphalia and trained at the German watchmaking school in Glashuette from 1927 to 1928 and 1935. In addition to this pocket watch, Hans Abeler also created a marine chronometer and a tourbillon movement model. For his work he received a bonus of 40 Reichsmark from the Georg Jacob Foundation, awarded from the society of the friends of the apprenticeship system. Hans Abeler was a member of the Saxonia fraternity and established his own shop in Neuss.
